JH Volleyball went to Smith Center

On Thursday, October 3rd, the Junior High Lady Railer Volleyball team took on the Smith Center Lady Redman, for their last home games of the season.  The night started with B team winning in straight sets, 25-10 & 25-19.  Leading in serving was Callie Priest with 4 ace serves and 9 good serves.  The girls worked together and had a good night of getting the ball set up.  Leading spiker was Brooke Starns with 4 kills, 2 spikes and 2 tips.  Leading passer for the match was Addison Kohl with 16.  Overall the girls did a great job working together to get the win, one thing to improve before taking on Norton next week is to get their serves in, they missed 9 in the match.  Their record is 3-1 on the season.
Next up was the C team, they moved to 4-0 on the season, winning in straight sets, 25-5 & 25-11.  Maleah Vine led serving with 3 aces and 9 good serves, close behind was Alyssa Rome with 3 aces and 8 good serves.  Leading passer was Alyssa with 9 and Chloe Adkins with 7.  These girls continue to improve each time they step onto the court, they also missed 9 serves for the match.  Keep up the great work girls!
To round out the night, the A team took the floor and fought hard but came up short losing in straight sets 12-25 & 21-25.  Moving them to 6-3 on the season.  The girls did awesome with serving, not missing a single serve during the match.  Leading in serves was Kaydawn Haag with 1 ace and 7 good serves, close behind was Braelyn Born with 1 ace and 6 good serves.  Taylor Seibel and Kaydawn each had 2 kills.  Leading in passing was Jadyn Starns and Emily James each with 10 good passes.  Leading in digs was Taylor with 8 and Emily with 7.  The girls didn’t play a bad match; they just didn’t run their offensive consistently.  The girls allowed Smith Center to set it up and spike more times than we did, which put us on defense and made us dig the ball.  We face them again on Tuesday the 8th, with some adjustments we are hoping for a different outcome.  The A team girls have a busy week this coming week, heading to Phillipsburg on October 8th for a Quad, then the whole team travels to Norton on Thursday the 10th to take on the BlueJays, and then Saturday, October 12, is the MCEL tournament in Wakeeney.
