EJH Basketball Defeated at TMP


The Ellis Jr. High school girls basketball team visited TMP on Thursday November 21, 2019 losing in the varsity and C-game contest and winning in the JV game in overtime.

In the varsity game, Ellis lost the contest 31-15. TMP showed some very good shooting as well as capitalizing on free throws with 57% made. In the previous five league games, TMP varsity has beat their opponents for an average of 24 points.

Leading scorer for Ellis was Isabella Eck with eight points, Natalee North had three and Kylee Pfeifer and Emily James each had two. Leading rebounder for Ellis was Eck with eight boards followed by North with seven. James and Pfeifer each had five boards, Macy Eberle had three, Kaydawn Haag had two and Braelyn born had one. Ellis had 26 rebounds to TMP’s 34.

Ellis won the J.V. game in overtime. The contest was close throughout the game. The score was tied 20 to 20 at the end of the fourth quarter. Ellis’ Addison Kohl managed the only score in the overtime period making Ellis the winners 22-20.

Leading scorer for Ellis was Jennifer Cunningham with 12 points, Natalee North had five, Addison Kohl had three points and Alyssa Rome added two. Leading rebounder for Ellis was North with 11, Sydney Redetzke had eight and Kohl had five. Maleah Vine had four rebounds, Cunningham and Rome each had two and Kaycee Cranwell had one. Ellis had a total of 33 rebounds to TMP’s 27.

Two quarters were played in the C-game. TMP won the contest eight to two. Kaycee Cranwell was the only scorer for Ellis with two points. Leading rebounder for Ellis was Cranwell with five boards followed by Vine and Brooke Starns each with four. Rome and Grace Brull each had two boards.
